Peterborough Museum

Roman Day at the Museum.

On Thursday 11th December, year 3 and 4 took a trip to the local Peterborough museum as part of their topic this term ‘Word Invaders’. They created faces in pottery and spoke to a real Roman soldier!

“At the museum I learnt that the Roman soldiers wore metal armour and sometimes chain metal. It was very heavy!”  Joshua Goodliffe.

At the beginning of term we enjoyed our very own ‘Invasion of Britain’ and became part of a group of invaders that reigned in this country over many years. We then focused on The Romans and produced our own reports for the school museum. Throughout the term we have understood how the English language has been shaped by others and is still continually changing – even now!
